Luxe Living
Some communities are built around a view. Ballantyne Country Club was built around a way of life. Since 1996 it has been one of South Charlotte’s best-known private club communities, with championship golf, a full club calendar, and estate homes set along the fairways, all minutes from the Ballantyne business district.
The Setting
The neighborhood sits around a Rees Jones–designed championship course in the heart of Ballantyne. Its streets curve with the course, mature landscaping softens the homesites, and many homes look onto fairways, greens, or water. The community as a whole is not gated, but its scale, setbacks, and landscaping give it a settled, private feel. A number of individual estates are gated.
The Architecture
Homes here are custom and semi-custom, finished in brick, stone, and stucco, with traditional and European-inspired designs throughout. The finest homes sit on golf-course lots. They typically have five or more bedrooms, main-level primary suites, finished lower levels that match the quality of the main floors, and outdoor living areas with pools, covered terraces, and outdoor kitchens. Across the community, sizes and finishes vary widely. Knowing which streets, homesites, and builders hold their value is where local knowledge matters most.
The Club
Ballantyne Country Club is the centerpiece. The par-72 Rees Jones course has five sets of tees, Bermuda fairways, and bentgrass greens, and its practice facility is one of the best in the region. Beyond golf, the 45,000-square-foot clubhouse has dining, meeting spaces, and full locker rooms. The club also offers lighted clay and hard tennis courts, pickleball, a modern fitness center, a resort-style pool complex, and programs for children and families. Membership is separate from homeownership and comes in several levels. Buyers should look at the club and the home together.
The Location
- Minutes to Ballantyne’s shops, restaurants, and corporate campuses, and to The Ballantyne Hotel
- Easy access to I-485 for SouthPark, Uptown, and Charlotte Douglas International Airport
- About 15 miles to Uptown Charlotte
- Close to Waverly, Blakeney, and Stonecrest for everyday shopping
- Served by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (check current school assignments for each address), with well-regarded private schools nearby
Who It Suits
Ballantyne Country Club suits buyers who want club life just outside their door: avid golfers, active families who will use the pools, courts, and kids’ programs, and executives who want a short commute to Ballantyne’s corporate offices. It also works well for buyers relocating to Charlotte who want an established community with social connections built in.
A Private Conversation
Ballantyne Country Club homes are not all alike. Lot position, golf views, renovation history, and club membership all affect value. I would welcome a private conversation about the homes and homesites that fit the way you live.
