Skyecroft: A Gated Enclave of European-Inspired Estates in Waxhaw

The first impression of Skyecroft is its gate: a castle-style guardhouse on Skyecroft Way that signals, before you see a single home, that this is a neighborhood built with intention.

The Setting

Skyecroft sits off Providence Road in the Waxhaw–Weddington area, about eight miles south of Ballantyne. The community was built out gradually from the mid-2000s into the early 2020s, and it has matured into a setting of wooded homesites, cobblestone accents, lakes with fountains, and more than 40 acres of green space.

The Architecture

Skyecroft was shaped by a group of respected custom builders, including Simonini, Arcadia Homes, Conger Builders, New Tradition Homes, and Dwight Hunter Custom Homes. The result is a collection of European-inspired estates rather than a single template. Most homesites range from about half an acre to more than an acre, and homes typically span roughly 4,300 to nearly 9,000 square feet.

These are homes with presence: stone and stucco façades, generous volumes, and the kind of architectural detailing that rewards a closer look.

The Amenities

Life inside the gates is well considered. Residents enjoy a clubhouse of roughly 5,000 square feet, a Junior Olympic pool, lighted tennis and pickleball courts, walking trails, lakes and ponds, and six pocket parks throughout the neighborhood.

The Location

  • About 15 minutes to Ballantyne and roughly 17 miles to Uptown Charlotte
  • Close to Waverly, Rea Farms, and the shops of Weddington
  • Minutes to The Club at Longview and historic downtown Waxhaw
  • Served by Union County Public Schools (assignments have shifted over the years, so verify them directly with Union County Public Schools)

Who It Suits

Skyecroft appeals to buyers who want gated privacy, newer custom construction, and resort-style amenities, with Ballantyne close at hand.

A Private Conversation

Every Skyecroft home is individual. Builder, finishes, lot position, and updates all influence value in ways a simple comparison can’t capture. If Skyecroft is on your list, whether you’re buying, selling, or simply curious about what your home might be worth, I would be glad to share a current market perspective.
